If faced with high electricity bills - here is what to check?

Dear Chopra ji and Members, It is a subject for all citizens and consumers to understand in order to ensure receiving fair services without appealing at any Consumer Forum or Courts. I am deadly against taking the matter for judgement by third party because it will make the life of individuals harder and unduly stressed. Unfortunately, Regulatory Commissions are not putting up adequate efforts to ensure protection to the interest of Consumers and at the same time the Service Providers should not be taking undue advantages or stresses. In recent days Fixed Charges have been increased multifold to an undue level. I can understand a minimum charges when consumption is low or neglegible. Tariff determined and defined are already extensively high when compared to current average cost of generation in the country. Tariff for all consumers should not be higher than 1.3 times of National Average cost of generation. If a fair priciple is considered with fair management of sector, I am cofident that no consumer will be liable to pay tariff higher than Rs.3.50 per unit. As regard to high energy consumption, many of us in our country like me, will be spending its hard earned money in fetching the water because the organisations like Delhi Jal Board and other civic agencies do not fulfill their obligations afer receiving funds from Consumers. We have paid good amount of money for regular service of Delhi Jal Board in 2015nand we have not received even a litre of water at ground level. One has to suck water through pumps consuming electricity. When water is not available even by sucking we need to avail the water from Borewells or alternative sources. We need to push water to overhead tank kept at a height of 10 Meters consuming electricity. Making water availability is costing us minimum 100 units of electricity every month. more

Chopraji , you have taken a lot of your time and energy to open the consumers eyes. I thank you first . Now we have been hearing about electricity theft from the public grid by Industries , for the public meetings etc. Is it also possible in Flats where the meters are all in one single box . How to find , if any of the co tenants are misusing ? more
