IFB cheating consumers
I had purchased Diva model washing machine from IFB around 10 yrs ago. In the very beginning I had problem with the company as they did not honor the warranty. I filed a case against them in the Consumer court and was granted compensation of Rs.6,000/-.
Again on 02.01.2016 the company representative approached me convincing me that extended warranty facilities are available and that they would honor the warranty. Accordingly I paid him Rs.3778/- on 02.01.2016, receipt number(Book No. & Sl.No.15534 3715 2015-2016
In the month of Feb 2017, the cabinet legs collapsed because of rusting. When I complained to the company, the customer care promised me online that the rusted cabinet would be replaced under the extended warranty. But since the past three months I have made repeated complaints; each time they promise the same, but the local service centre does not respond. I made several written complaints to the global customer care of the company; except a courtesy reply, they have not done anything. Atlast the local service centre tells me that cabinets are not covered under extended warranty. When I ask them to give me this information officially and in writing, they are avoiding me. I have contacted the senior officials in the customer care to atleast inform me officially if the statement of the local service centre is true. But they are mute. It is obvious that they got the money they wanted to collect from me, and now they are avoiding to give the promised service. As a consumer I told them that i have the right to be informed in writing whether the cabinets are really not covered by the extended warranty, and if so the reasons. But this company which is known to be a hardcore cheat, from a long time, is not even bothered to write to me.
On top of it I off and on receive sms messages from the service center 'confirming' to me of complaints that I had never made. And again after a few days I receive messages stating that my 'complaint' has been resolved. This clearly proves that they are maintaining bogus records, and fooling the consumers. Their services are not only deficient but they are outright cheating the consumers.
Members of local circles and the public should be alert to the fact that IFB is a big fraud, and it should be boycotted by all. more
