Important announcement

It is good that people are sharing their experiences through this circle but I would request the members for not giving medical advices/suggestions which may affect otherwise and put some one in trouble. It has been noticed that members are seeking advice regarding which doctor is best for different ailment etc or what treatment would cure a particular decease etc. Please do not communicate or practice such knowledge. Kindly consult your doctor for the same. Thanks more

Agreed with Shefali. A second opinion site would be helpful for everyone - those who seek info and opinion on one end and those who would like to share their research findings on the other. People may be surprised to know that healing science and what is actually being practiced in medicine (heavily influenced by pharmaceutical industries, driven by sole profit motive with little value for money being offered) are two separate things. What is being discovered in universities and research labs don't see the light of the day unless it is patentable and unless it offers repeat business oppurtunity (through side effects) so as to give the investors a hefty return for their money. This is wall street philosophy of operation, whether people accept it or not. Cure is never an option. Therefore alternative (truly scientific) treatment, holistic medicine centers are finding their cause in advanced nations (mostly european and some american), with India way behind to catch up the pace. See lef.org, canceractive.com, cancerdecisions.com. Drugs are sometimes outright faulty because of their mechanism of action e.g. (fat soluble) statins (HMG-CoA inhibitors) like atorvastatin which is now facing numerous lawsuits in US. Others are outright fraud in practice : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_pharmaceutical_settlements, http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikakelton/2013/07/29/is-big-pharma-addicted-to-fraud/. Although, putting forward opinions/advice by non-medical professionals is really dangerous, what can be done in such situations is to provide internet links (e.g. for clinics which offers genuine treatment options, or where a supplement or device could be available), research findings (again, with links provided) and known cases of recovery following a specific protocol, say for diabetes, hypertension or heart ailments etc. And yes, something must be paid for availing the information, because digging takes time and effort, money and some education (background). Nothing is for free. Casual info could be free to share, however, as most people enjoy doing. Effectiveness can't be guaranteed in such a case. more

Our Circle is" Staying Healthy With AYUSH". If one doesn't feel AYUSH is useful then how come one is the member of this circle? People are sharing experiences, which is the essence of the circle but to follow or not to follow them is your prerogative/choice. more
I feel that promoting AYUSH is not such a useful thing. Solving people's problem and sharing experience is very useful. We have long had silos in our society and it is time we consider open exchange where possible. People have lost trust in the system and hence trust fellow citizens more than Doctors or so called experts. Let there be both sharing AYUSH info and exchange/seeking as both will make the community super vibrant. more
