Imported Foods rule enforcement
I believe there is a law where all imported foods brought into India must have 60% of the shelf life remaining. This shelf life is from manufacturing date.
Many importers tend to hide this date with an imported date and the customer is led to believe that is the date.
My request to all is to be vigilant and bring up any such examples if you see them.
Fssai should be taking action against such importers on priority.
A good bit of imported food i selling on ecommerce too so be careful there as well. more

While Indian made packed Food items comprising stale and adulterated resulting chronic deceases how can be the Imported Food items be reasonably good . Unless we are sure of quality and hygiene of Food items under import are as equal as our Exported Food items like Prawns , beef that are regulated for quality Tests, there cannot be any safety in the Trade . We are already experiencing with Aids, Swineflue, Chicken Gunia, etc., and more serious chronic deceases still to be confirmed of whether from those brought in or the outcome of adulterated Food Stuff and or those made out of Stale and spoiled Durables .Necessary precaution and vigilance become necessary . more

Date of packing is not date of manufacture .So some how FSSAI should that data also stop malpractices by the traders marketing foods that are close to expiry date by acquiring them cheap. more
