Impounding of old vehicles

Yesterday afternoon the Founder of Localcircles was on one of the television channels opposing the forced impounding of old vehicles that is happening in Delhi. And believe he shared the findings of this survey.

https://www.localcircles.com/a/press/page/vehicle-scrappage-policy

Researching it a bit more I find that Delhi Transport Minister also saying that this impounding is wrong.

Who is then forcing impounding of old vehicle and why hasnt the Government fixed their policy based on kilometers run instead of vehicle age. Its pathetic that Nitin Gadkari and his babus are clueless on this matter more

we sometime back discussed this issue only people whose cars have been scrapped either forcefully or otherwise should get at least 60% discount or above on battery operated and hydrogen based vehicles( if subsidies can be given on haj ,various minority boards get various monetary helps running in billions of rupees every year why not to new car owners whose cars have been scrapped ) . i faced same issue i.e forced scarpping i wrote about the same to Nitin Gadkari on his website Nitingadkari.org the action taken was that in delhi scrapping stopped for three months and started again in April 2023 ehhhh more
The government is a cartoon/puppet. They don't control anything. Thankyou for giving me a voice after a decade! Somebody else has the control. There is lot more dangerous issue than this and it is so technical that I can't even explain to you properly. Get your old vehicles back on road!!! ASAP... Use electric for daily commute... more
I feel we shouldn't think on this issue so generic. Vehicle condition including emission norms must be checked well. There are many people own vehicle but use it very less. In such case, years & model should not deem fit to scrap. Experts may introspect on it. more
Here is the show clip from one of my whatsapp groups more
I too belong to the majority opinion group, i.e. the old vehicles should be scrapped based on kms-run instead of age. Sudhir K. Jain .......... Prof. Sudhir K.
