Basically almost everybody related to trains especially TCs are corrupt. There is no scope for improvement of railways till you privatize railways and bring competition among the trains. Also unless the authorities make is easy for passengers to complain against the officials and act upon them swiftly, forget about improvement. For last 40 years I am hearing the same promises. more
The Porter should be provided with the small fabricated trolleys with the Castor wheels as is available with Howrah Jn Station. It do not cost much.Such porters are charging RS 35/-It can carry a load of 40 kg on long platforms.Like wise battery cars are provided at important stations for elders.Such cars can be utilized for portage on the basis of luggage numbers and size .Passenger can hand over the luggage at a collection point having scanner;where suitable tagging of train no,coach no and passengers name is mentioned and its duplicate may be handed over to the depositor passenger as is done at the Airports-Passenger need not to carry it,s luggage to the Aircraft. It must be on the pre- paid chargeable basis,Otherwise the existing system may be utilized by the passenger. more
some measures should be initiated to check over occupancy of others share of place in coachesby carring more luggage both in weight and volume( several tokaries are carried by some in train compartments). There should be check at the level of entry into the platform.Booking of luggage can be made easy when such excessive articles are found . more
