Total sales recorded through E Commerce and Organized Retail are less than 6% of the total consumer spend in India. Therefore, we should not deploy Government resources at this juncture on such issues. Let us concentrate our efforts on few selected issues which affect significant population and have the potential to bring subtantial benefits to the society. more
We must also ensure that the existance of swadeshi or Indian sites has no problem with the entry of international players...Suitable rules and laws should be placed.. The govt must also ensure that Indian products are sold in the E commerce sites otherwise this idea of Ecommerce can backfire if the indian products do not find any market..and struggle for existance in our own country... It should not be a blind gamble more
Solution: 1. E-commerce sites need to be under scanner. 2. Laws needs to be revised to protect consumers when cheated by e commerce sites. 3. Certain rules need to be introduced which should be followed by all the sites who r in e commerce business. 4. All sites should have grievance redressing system. 5. Warranty needs to be honoured for selling items as per description given in site. All anomaly in description has to be clarified. 6. Awareness program needs to be carried regorously by the government making ordinary citizens aware of their right, what they should check or claim whom they can address. 7. There are certain guidelines which all international e-commerce sites need to follow if they have to do business in developed countries where these business are prevalent for longer times. It should be ensured that such guidelines should be followed diligently even when the sites are allowed to do business in India. Regards, Amrita Chowdhury more
Issues ===== 1. Incorrect specifications of the product are displayed in the site. 2. After sales customer service is very worst. 3. E-Commerce sites doesn't take responsibility for the good they sell, they point fingers to sellers and manufacturers for any defects. 4. Getting refund of money for any valuable reason from those sites becomes a nightmare. 5. They force the customers to buy another product in case of returning the defective piece rather returning money to customers. more
We should encourage only those sites that are renowned because we can rely on them--those that have been there for long and have done business for quite sometime. more
