In flight transmission is happening

Researchers say a 7-hour international flight to Ireland this summer linked to 59 coronavirus cases

About 13 of 49 passengers tested positive even though flight was only 17% full

They say their study is "one of few thus far demonstrating in-flight transmission

Out of the 13, 12 were symptomatic

Those 13 passengers went on to infect 46 more people

Masks were utilized by nine of those 13, with one child not wearing a mask

Report did not disclose the airline or where the flight originated

Four of 13 were hospitalized, with one ending up in intensive care.

Four cases were not seated next to any other positive case, had no contact in transit lounge, wore face masks in-flight

Symptoms appeared two days after the flight, and in one case 17 days after

Concludes : In-flight propagation merit further study. Health advisories and airline checks, should preclude travel in those with symptoms. more

I agree with Umesh ji. I travelled from USA to London and next day to Kenya. By grace of God all was fine. Of course we were using mask, hand wash etc. more
Please folks, do not pluck any information from anywhere and from any time, and post it here. This confuses the reader. You have to be and you must be specific. Any Khabar of even two months ago cannot fit into today's scenario. So, please post comments only if they are actual, meaning very recent. Some people quote "studies" done in America and in England and so forth. These need to be "actual" and relevant. more
Where is WHO now?? Their latest finding is that coronavirus IS NOT TRANSMITTED from person to person!!!!! more
Scenario mentioned by Aditi is out of date. At that time safety precautions for boarding passengers and aircraft were not in vogue. Numerous flights have since been taken without any recurrence of the mentioned scenario. Badminton champion Sindhu flew to London alone on a 12 hour flight few days ago. None reported infection. Just for information, air inside aircraft presently is as pure as in a surgical theatre of a modern hospital due to the use of advanced techniques. more
One cannot say that the virus was caught during the flight. Was not testing certificates procured before the passengers boarded an international flight? If not, how do you get the statistics quoted? more
