Inadequate fire fighting facilities in buildings and even govt departments
Repeated fire accidents in twin cities and elsewhere bring to light the half hearted approach of the Builders to build according to the rules of safety in general . 90% of the present constructions beyond 15 meters height buildings have no fire safety measures .
No escape stairs , no lighting , no exiting passages leave alone fire fighting .
Buildings above 15 floors are increasing in posh and new areas which are fire traps . The city has no ladder mounted on vehicles in fire service department beyond 15 floors !
The liberal issue of certificates of fire safety by officials defeat the very purpose of safety for a livable city.
Institutions, hospitals,public residences with above 5 floors have very poor infrastructure , no fire drills , no mock drills , no fire fighting book with protocols!
Why talk of other cities In India even our own city is scary to live .
Tax payers money need to be spent on essential services by inducting more trained people , personal gear , infrastructure and motivate people to adhere to safety norms more vigorously than before .

The concerned Municipal officials would have derived huge illicit earning for giving Occupancy Certificate without Certificate of No-objection being from They should be proceed against the concerned Municipal official against under Prevention of Corruption Act. more

Apartment welfare association should file a case against officials who issued occupancy certificates etc more

only when calamity strike the real holes will be appearing.....hope they plug loop holes atleast now!! more
