I have also submitted my return on the 10th of August, 2021 without any difficulty and e-verified it. The return has since been assessed and verified by the Income Tax Deptt. and the relative intimation has since been received by me. I think some improvements have since been made & it is now working satisfactorily. For example, on the day I submitted the Return, I was unable to get a copy of the submitted Return despite my best efforts and lodged a complaint with the Income Tax Department through e-mail. After 15 days or so of submission of the Return, I could easily download and print the submitted return. more
Horrible so called system. No need to fix something is already working. Why did the government rake this up, when the old portal was working absolutely okay? Have other areas needing fixing, been fixed, such as another basic infrastructural requirement, with schooling being delivered to the economically weak? Or maybe education remains the government's inherited legacy now abandoned! Government wanted to change whatever was inherited from the previous regime, just entirely for political reasons, and see what the result is! A highly educated Dr.Manmohan Singh instated a resilient, progressive tax collection system that was efficiently yielding revenue. In one fell swoop, Mr.Modi autocratically, has had that totally shut. Last years refunds still to be received. Government definitely benefiting there! Only common, honest person inconvenienced. Educated leadership, especially the rule makers, is what this country needs. more
The extension of time for filling of returns has no logic. Most of the people will file their return only at the fag end of the time limit. But many employers are not providing Form 16 and 16a in time. Income Tax payers should submit their return as early as possible, if the data is available. I have already submitted my return in the first week of August'2021 and it has been assessed and intimation has been received. more
e verification is another headache. In spite of 3 attempts, one being in the office of UIDAI, my wife's mobile number could not be added to Aadhar due to some issue with UIDAI. In its absence, the e verification could not be done using Aadhar. And there is some issue with the new and "improved" IT website due to which it cannot be done using net banking, something we were doing for so many years. A grievance raised with IT department for this got a response - "Please wait for some time". And if you send the acknowledgement to Bangaluru it can be done through India Post only and it invariably gets lost. Pathetic condition. more
Reason for extension of deadline - Issues in IT portal. The govt will now lose revenue (and interest on the revenue) , since many will file their taxes only near the deadline. Will Infosys compensate for the loss? more
