Income tax form simplification

CBDT the income tax department proposes to introduce a common ITR by merging all existing ITRs except ITR-7. They are seeking inputs on the attached from common people.

Dont know what babus and netas think. If they expect aam aadmi to go through a 169 page document and give them inputs, they are clueless.

Why haven’t they partnered with LocalCircles or similar platform to simplify key inputs and form questions that common people can understand?

A good govt is one that knows its strength and weaknessses. more

Action should be such so as to increase the number of Tax Payers. Presently there are many people who earn more then 2.5 Lakh per annum, but are not paying Taxes. Agriculturist is one such category. Another is Corrupt people must be trapped and punished severely. Atleast Income Tax Department can Check on Corruption in India. more
Ours is a cash economy hence it is very difficult to know actual income of such people. more
Lengthy forms be reviewed and reduced to 3 pages max. Reduce tax rate and increase tax base to maximize revenue collection and reduce corruption. more
I will review this draft if CBDT / GoI pays me Review Charges plus GST for the same - no freebies for the government! I have had enough of honestly filing complicated tax returns every year even when I have no income as a retired senior citizen!! more
The Procedure or I would say the whole constitution of India is faulty & having lot of loop holes & need to revamp or Scrapped. we have to make new constitution & laWS WITH clear wording & only common man will be able to do it. The Babus will make several ways for escapes. Instead of making the new terms change income tax slab. Min. Gross Income limit make it Rs. 10.00 lakhs with Direct tax deduction of Rs. 10,000 /00 . Even make it compulsory to all vendors to pay min. Rs. 5000 /00 tax per annum . It will create huge income. there is No poor peoples except in few areas . even in small hutanaments you will find cable TV paying Rs. 350 /00 min. per month for cable TV / satellite TV but they cant afford to pay Rs. 500 /00 towards electricity. It is bitter fact in this country . These all going on under the name of poor peoples/ poverty & other vote bank politics. more
A road side food vendor earns upto Rs.2000.00 per day (nett icome). A carpenter/Mason earns Rs.800-1000 Per day. In addition, they have got BPL cards, free ration, medical, electricity, water, education, uniform, books, house etc. still they don't pay income tax as if it is applicable to those working in an organized sector. more
