Income Tax New ‘Nightmare’ Portal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The new income tax portal is turning out to be a nightmare for taxpayers, auditors and others. Though the Government has extended the tax return filing deadline for individuals, salary class, etc., the system is yet to be user friendly.....
Post go live issues are bound to happen in any system development but the number of issues (in the name of technical glitches) in the new portal are too many and beyond comprehension… In spite of having a legacy system as a reference point, the inability to deliver a relatively trouble free system is unacceptable.
I think the portal was released without proper testing (like the earlier one- GST). Despite a huge spend of Rs 4,000 + crores (?), the output is a crap. I won’t blame the implementation partner b’cos he has already proved himself when GST (God Save Taxpayer) portal was launched!

In my view, success of IT projects’ are largely dependent upon proper planning, team formation and Stakeholders involvement right from Project kick-off. If their involvement is nil or very limited, the output would be a disaster like this one.

Knowing well the GST debacle, the Government should have put in few extra layers to oversee and audit the implementation process before release of the system.

Another excellent demonstration of Chalta Hai (I don’t care) Attitude????? more

There has been some improvement in the new Income Tax portal, but initially people have faced difficulties, which could have been avoided by proper experimentation. more
GST AND INCOME TAX more
It is a typical case of Provider of the software is a fool,Govt is of the fool for people who are fool.Present FM is making herself a fool more
As we all are unable to file itr the date of filing is getting delayed.Naturally the interest on refund amount must be calculated taking into account this delayed time period more
I don't know why our Govt gave a contract to same company again and again for creating different portal. You are right already no GST Portal or proper Filing systems of return is on table. Now its again Income Tax Return filing Online Portal is totally messed. 1. Validation of Bank Account: No option for edit or delate available. 2. For adopting New Tax Regime: After filling Form 10-IE, Portal neither auto Filling nor allowed us to fill Acknowledgement Number and Date. 3. TDS Auto Generated: Either not generating or only 2 quarter auto reflecting. all these are issue coming while we try to fill online our ITR1, ITR2 and ITR4. Helpline has no resolution from last one and a half month. So shame for us. more
