Inconsistant Electronic weighing scales at Stores
Many stores including Big Bazar, Mother dairy etc have digital/ electronic weighing scales and they charge for even 1 gm. For example if one takes 1 Kg of potato and it weighs 1.02 Kg, the store charges for 0.02 gm also. No problem. They should. However, such stores do not comply with the norms of weights and measure department. As per weights and measure department, to the best of my knowledge, such stores should have one standard weight of 1 Kg (batta) so that any consumer can counter check it. But none of such stores specifically Big Bazar have standard weight. Once I purchased some vegitable at Big Bazar Shipra Mall, Indirapuram Ghaziabad. The electronic weighing scale was showing inconsistant weights. Different weighing scales at the Store were showing different weights (variance was in gms, but they had charged for additional gm). The store did not have a standard weight to check the correctness of electronic weighing scales of the store.
Weights and measure department is requested to have surprise checks and fine the stores for not having standard weight and for having inconsistent weighing scales. more

You can file written complaint to the "Weights and measure department" along with the Bill and the (UN-TEMPERED) sealed packets having the different weights. So also you can file complaint with Consumer forum. more

At the airport, I was asked to pay for 4 KGS excess baggage. I said I was pax in transit...So how did I get excess baggage. They insisted.
