Increased GST on apartment society maintenance bills

GST of 18% is to be levied if both the below conditions happen
1) Monthly contribution per member is over ₹7,500
2) Annual Turnover of society is ₹20 lakhs

This is just ridiculous. Can LocalCircles take it up. Unfair to senior citizens. more

In a city like Mumbai a limit of 7500 and 20.00L is nothing. These limits should be different for different class of cities. Further how much Govt wants to squeez its already hard pressed Citizens. more
As per Kerala High Court latest judgement, GST on society maintenance bill is unconstitutional. Pl take up the matter. more
THIS GOVT HAS NO REGARDS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS WHO VOTED THEM TO POWER THEY THINK YOUNG GEN WILL PAY TAX MY FOOT THEY USE SMART CA TO SAVE TAX THANKLESS GOVT FOR WHOM WE WORKED SO HARD TO DEVELOPE more
This is not a new provision. There was a MOF clarification recently pursuant to a Tamil Nadu court order. Many societies/associations were only recovering GST on amounts over Rs 7500 and not the entire amount which was not consistent with the provisions. Also, both conditions i.e. Rs 7500 maintenence per month and cumulative exceeding Rs 20 lakh per annum for the entire society/ association have to be satisified in order to charge GST. Input credit on certain spends are also being permitted so only societies/associations which have not planned their affairs well will have significant burden. more
This is just ridiculous governemnt should rethink more
