Increasing Student suicides

The rising suicide rates of very young students in our state in particular and in present India is to be viewed seriously and a rational analysis must be done by parents, governments, teachers ,sociologists and psychiatrists urgently.
The age group from 15 yrs to 25 years who are in the stage of budding are very vulnerable.Analysis of such sucides shows
1- The young people have become very ambitious and and are trying to reach higher educational goals in spite of financial ,family and environmental restraint.
2- Present generation is getting a lot of attention from parents specially girls and are being provided the maximum facilities even if there are financial constraint.
3- Due to exposure to social media ,Internet they want to own gadgets like , phones, computers ,costly fast bikes with out realising that it is not affordable to all .
4- Some are joining tough professional courses in spite of not being meritorious and intellectually fit but depending on opurtunities of reservation ,parents capacity to pay donation .
5-Due to liberalised society interaction between boys and girls is increasing so is the rate of love affairs.
6- Increased pressure of performance in competitive exams, corporate colleges tough curriculums, increased parental expectations by providing extra finances by borrowing, selling properties, gold etc ,increased thrusting of professions on children with out realising their capacity to perform.
Some changes are needed to tackle these abnormal rates of suicides in young people.
A-Appointment of clinical psychologists to all institutions to help the needy ,prempt potential depresssed student with suicidal tendencies.Teachers are to identify the poor performers, students who are vulnerable psychologically.
B-Arranging extra coaching to such week students to cope academically .
C-Help financially if they are need for academic purposes in the form of fees waivers, scholarships .
D- Academic counselling if they are not fit for the course ,help in discontinuation of course ,help in getting in to courses where that can do better.
E-Not to reduce cut off marks for reserved categories as it is obvious that they cannot cope up with high academic levels.
F- Prevent students from going astray like gambling ,drinking ,drug taking ,smoking and participating in political movements ( which will distract his performance)
G-Absence from classes with out proper reasons like ill health must be recognised and any love affairs must be detected and advised.
H-Ban on mobile ,smart phones including IPads in class rooms .
I- Ban on Wifi in class rooms .
J- Ban on computer games( Blue whale game)porn in class rooms and institution except library and computer lab.
K-English medium education between 9,10, classes and plus two courses will help the student adjusting to the new graduate levels as they all are tought in English ,adjustment is easy Many suffer from inferiority complex at this stage of entry in to professional courses .
Parents should not goad him with their financial worries .
L- Free education up to graduate levels in the whole country will give lot of financial relief to students and families.
These are some suggestions which can reduce student suicide rates more

The value system in the family is absent more
I understand that students have to go through depression with growing competition. But I'm trying to bring different perception to this topic. Do children have balance in life? Is the lifestyle we are giving children making them compulsive and obsessed. Are we feeding them with more junk food indirectly contributing to stress level. Do they participate in any fun activity to keep enjoying life. It maybe mix of all the above an pressure of rat race more
Despite all the well researched reasons, the most important one I personally feel is family bonding and interaction. If the family environment is conducive all other reasons pale into insignificance. When parents spend quality time with their children, absence or excess of money should not be a cause for wayward behaviour. A good family upbringing will surely prevent undue despair and despondency. Col (Dr) A P Gupta (Retd) more
