India doesn’t care about education

It is criminal that we create an entrance exam for everything and levy a 18% GST on coaching,
We have 18% GST on employability courses, 18% GST on skilling courses,
GST on graph books, geometry boxes, GST on transportation to college etc. GST ON outside catering.

Isn’t this your responsibility Government to reduce the cost of education? Is this the way we hope to attain demographic dividend?

Can we escalate LC Manager more

Taxes will be there as that is the revenue source for the government. Only peripheral education and courses are charged GST at 18%. Ideally, if Basic and College education standards were sound, none of these courses would be needed. Basic education in School/College is not subject to GST. Coming to material used by students for educational purposes, I personally feel that 18% GST is unjustified. There is a case to reduce the rate to 5% or totally scrap GST on such items. But when the governments priorities are misplaced, such issues will be there. We can only hope that sooner than later better sense will prevail. more
Govt must reduce its liability, then only general public will get some relief. Biggest liability is illegal immigrants, they must be sent back to their own Country. Another is 80 Crore who are given free Ration. more
Its not that taxes were not levied prior to the GST regime, they were levied in the name of VAT, etc. So by introduction of GST, all taxes got consolidated. As such, there was no need to levy GST separately as it were being paid by us in different forms. This is a big fraud, according to me and Government is silent on this but in turn paying more. LC must raise this issue. more
GST Should be abolished from stationery items and coaching fee. more
Government of India should make education in the governmental educational institutions across the country, totally free. Then only, the country can progress and prosper globally. more
Education and health must be taken care by Govt, no private operators. more
