India poor in world bank ratings
Per todays paper India is still at 130 rank in ease of doing business rankings. The DIPP team is flagging all kind of reasons stating why India should be better but to no avail.
Reality is not much has changed at the state and district level for our entrepreneurs. Why is there no interface at local levels between sme and district magistrate. Where does one go when faced with harrassment from local police, power connection, inspector raj etc.
Till u fix basics dont expect entrepreneurs rating of doing business to improve nor will world bank give us brownies. Better to do it properly.
Our system has cancer when it comes to doing business but we keep applying bandaids at different places to show the doctors are doing something. If doctors dont save the patient, guess what, they will be terminated. So better to solve problems than fight for ratings. If you fix problems, ratings will improve. more

Forget about Ease of doing business ranking, even the ease of living a life in India is such a drag that you would like to die as early as possible. This is because the Government in India does everything except governing. There is no dependable data available with the Government because the data is manufactured by various departments sitting in offices to suit the requirements of the powerful who run the shameless Governments in States & Centre. From the time of independence, all democratic institutions have been systematically downgraded by employing inefficient & corrupt staff who are interested only in their own prosperity thus joining hands with their political masters.
