Indians pay a bomb for fuel
Is corruption behind this or is it just bad policy making? How can we citizens get this corrected? more
The most unfortunate part is that freebies are being declared left and right as part of election manifestos by respective political parties at the expense of tax payer. This is no doubt indulging in royal corruption leave alone Horse Trading to buy/acquire power. Does success in elections at any cost be a means to claim Desh Seva when no one ever spends his/her amassed fortunes for the poor and yet multiply their reserves/ draw hefty perks. The success of any Govt should be evaluated by the prosperity they create through development and fair employment opportunities across all sections of the society but not through tactics of Pay Paul by robbing Peter. When we derive inspiration from others let us see their positive side instead of finding pleasure in their limitations. There is no reason to keep crying at foul play when we are not raising to the occasion to tell the political parties what we expect from them and select the best one of the lot, close to our aspirations beyond cast. creed and favoritism. more
There are hundreds of millions of poor (and even middle class!) who are getting dirt cheap food, gas, TV's, laptops, toilets, houses, medical treatment - the list is endless. Neither Europe nor the US has so many freebies being distributed. In Tamil Nadu, even organ transplants are performed at subsidised rates!
World class expressways are already there for us, and more are being every day. When the Goverment brings in world class Bullet trains, the leftists scream and shout. WHile Americans live in houses built of wood, we live in brick and mortar or concrete houses with excellent furniture, A/C - the works. We have the cheapest phone rates in the world. Broadband internet. Satellite TV. Affordable domestic servants. Home delivery. Taxis on call. World class metros. Personal tuitions. Top class universities and schools. Low cost pure organic food. A2 Milk and ghee.
Still we think the Brits are better off? Living in cold houses with grey and cold weather 9 months a year? Tiny houses (in cities). Long waits for NHS services. Declining incomes for those who are not college educated. No one to clean the house. No one to pick farm produce......
As one who lived abroad for a quarter century, I am very glad and lucky to be a citizen of India. A long time back, a Brit said - 'With all thy faults, I love thee, England'. more
