India's pollution top cause is petcoke

Petcoke, as it is commonly called, starts its life in the pits of Canada’s tar sands, which are one of the dirtiest sources of crude oil. It is then refined in the US Gulf Coast, where the lighter and most valuable fractions, such as petrol and diesel, are removed. What is left behind is petcoke, which cannot be burned in the US and most other countries because it produces more carbon, sulfur, and heavy-metal emissions than even coal. To try and make some money on what would otherwise be waste, US companies export petcoke to markets that still use them, including India and China. more

India is a nation full of "Kabadiwals" -- or junk dealers. They will import poison, if they can reuse or sell it. Pretty much like obsolete electronics dumped here, and gobbled up by junk dealers. Its in our genes. We cant stop it till people are literally "executed" for such sins. more
We and our government is mad giving permission to import anything for money as tax legally or any way.....thats reason we are called backward internationally. more

Yes its true. Many of the steel & Cement plants are using imorted petcoke but despite of taking action against regular source of pollution we focus on occasional source of pollution. more
Sorry Occasional Factor rather than factory. more
For your kind information we have to focus every factory whether it is occasional or regular. We cant Ignore or afford Occassional Factory also.... more
I hope this information is brought to the notice of Supreme Court which should ban its use rather than banning crackers. Judicial activisim is high but they are missing woods for the trees more
