Infosys Loot of tax payer money

Infosys was awarded the Rs 4,242-crore contract in 2019 to develop the new portal. Read this again guys 4000+ crore to develop the portal.

This is after the c grade performance of infosys on gst portal.

Why was this work not given to Startups of the country. I can assure u the cost would have been less than 200 crores

Remember its not a life time maintenance thing just development. Does the Govt know what its doing when in day light leading IT companies are being permitted to charge a bomb.

No wonder u have to increase taxes every couple or years for common man. And no wonder u cant reduce excise duty on petrol diesel. more

Yes the cost of eradicating corruption and inefficiency is high and it is worth it .Tge government cannot engage cheap and run into trouble later .Some top notch soft ware persons with merits deserve good payments .This is very cheap compared to very poor nonperforming works done by demerited persons more
My suggestion to FM is to go back to 1980's practice of filing IT returns manually. It looks like every tax payer have doctorate in Information Technology and have spies placed at the Finance Ministry how much was the contract, how much was paid, who got what, One proud citizen even knows the menu of the FM-Infosys meeting while they had tea. Yes, they should deduct the cost of tea and SAMOSA from the contract value. more
Has anyone read the contract to know 4000+ crore Infosys got. It is just insane amount and no one will be ready to pay for this kind of system development. May be it includes infra and all other costs (not just software development) and people started assuming Infosys got this money to just develop the software. Everyone is accusing Infosys for developing substandard application. Does anyone know what kind of requirements were given by government, what kind of suggestions given by Infosys during development time which was not followed by client (here government) or any other details? People are commenting on failure of GST and now IT portal (by the way GST failure is not IT failure but process failure) but same Infosys built Aadhar platform which is massive and many fold complex than IT portal. There was no hungama or chaos witnessed that time. Same Infosys is able to develop much more complex IT applications for international clients year after year. Please give a thought to these questions as well before jumping to conclusion. I agree end result is terribly bad (I am also suffering as not able to file IT returns) and Infosys also has to share the blame but just putting all the blame only on Infosys as that this the only reason for failure is not right. more
Yes, 4000+ cr is hell lot of money but how are we sure that this is the amount government has paid. Also, Infosys does not provide Infra (hardware etc.), so these amount will not go to Infosys. more
Whether it includes infra, hosting, development, maintenance, support - 4000 cr is hell a lot of money for revamping a portal which did not have much issues. And that too without considering any other companies. more
Yes, it was mis-managed and not expected from such reputed company. I have already submitted my returns and my experience is it has many deficiencies and not user friendly. more
Feeling both are froders more
