Initiate BIS circle consumer ministry
Observing, participating and initiating discussions in the connected consumer local circles I am of the view that many of these inputs from us (esp those on diff sectors) can be channelised constructively in formation of standards for products. things as basic as lifts and important from a public safety stand point dont have standards.
i therefore want to request consumer ministry and local circle to initiate a circle for BIS where people can participate in improving and ensuring implementation of product standards.
All members are requested to give view on this. I feel if products atleast can be made more safer and better performance, consumers, brands and India will benefit. more

In the name of low cost and more profit margin we ignore quality of the product.Efficiency of our labor is very low.Even many a labor are not properly educated.Modernisation/mechanisation is not there. more

BIS has an important role to confirm that the products wich reach the market are good quality products which satisfy the safety requirements also. Therefore thay are directly responsible to ensure that consumers get safe and good quality products. more

New Local Circles are not required for consumer ministry and local circle to initiate a circle for BIS _ Bureau of Indian Standards. more

The whole problem with our authorities with BIS, FSAI , WEIGHRS & MEASSURES & THE SO MANY OTHER IS , THEY THINK IT IS THE DESITNATION TO EXERT THE AUTHORITY FORGETTING THE RESPONSIBILITIES THE JOB DEMANDS. THAT MEANS ONLY THE AUTHORITY TO ISSUE LICENSES . NOT THAT OF AN OVERSEER TO SEE THAT IT IS MORE OF HIS DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITY . This philosophy probably is infective downwards from the legislators who get elected . more

SIR ,WHEN AT DELHI ,EVERY YEAR WE HAVE TO CERTIFY THAT FIRE EXTINGUISHER IS WORKING PROPERLY .FIRE HYDRANTS ARE TO BE REFILLED & CERTIFICATE IS TO BE SENT TO FIRE DEPT. SIMILARLY MAY CONSIDER ,TO ENACT A PROCEDURE THAT , LIFT WORKING PROPERLY NEEDS TO BE SENT TO BUILDING DEPT OF CORPORATION/PWD /CONCERNED AUTHORITY AS THE CASE MAY BE . more
