We can recycle thermocol waste by using them to build small garden walls. That way we can prevent non biodegradable waste from going to the landfill and effectively recycle waste to wealth. The walls are able to withstand rain and shine and remain sturdy for many years. Just place thick thermocol sheets in a row just like how bricks are used and apply a mild coating of cement-sand mixture. Presto! Your environmental friendly wall is ready at one-tenth the cost of a brick wall! more
I have always endorsed this Swacch Bharat Mission as this is a very genuine case for our country. but, i wont be kidding around, I reside near Mumbai and i dont see any changes on ground. The roads , societies, etc are the same as before. Same potholes on roads in rains. No dustbins at proper places, See the conditions of vegetable markets you will see filth everywhere, construction places becomes dumping ground. Neither the Municipal has taken any corrective measures nor are there any guidance for societies to adhere to nor is there any civic meetings by any MLA's and MP in their areas on the same. So more than People its even the govt bodies who dont take this seriously in getting it implemented though i dont say that its individual behavior also. more
It is a good symptom that Municipality is extending helping hand for organisors in disposing the waste. But let other things not be left behind. I have seen at Bhubaneswar Railway station that the latrines meant for Gents/ Ladies are under lock and key. When that will be made operational ??? Is it awaiting inauguration ??? more
This model can be followed all over the country wherever possible as this does not involve any machinery and wealth can be generated by way of organic manure. All local administrations .maintaining parks and gardens may be given this suggestion . more
Dear Sirs, This mail sounds as if a lot is happening on Swatch Bharat. But whom are we trying to fool? Let me just talk of Gurgaon, the so called Millenium city. Which has the highest tax collection in the NCR region. What has the Swatch Bharat done? Just nothing on the ground. Yes. a lot many Goverment employees have made a lot of money. Be it in the shape of road cleaners, or putting a few waste bins which are impractical and small to the core and have been put on the footpath, which forces the pedestrian on the road. If we talk of the maintenance of the public parks, just nothing has been done. The parks are not even cleaned. Check the big park in sector 38. Or lets talk of foot paths. Before the rains, the footpaths were dug to expose and open the drainage. The ""malba"" and filth was taken out and put on the footpath. No one came to pick it up. The rains came and took the malba and filth back into the drains. Many and many drain covers are missing. The foot path is a death chamber. On top of it, all the tiles are dug out and most of the footpaths can not be used. Lets talk of the Cycling path. The Haryana CM opened with big fanfare dedicated cycling coridor. Great initiative. But what happened? its all being used as parking by the Ola and Uber cars. Talk of public toilets and urinals. I request the administration , if they have not seen till now. Come with me in the morning to the sector 47 Petrol station. See for your self that the entire open ground , which has been reserved for the district shopping area is used by 1000s of locals for their morning call of nature. The area is also being used as the malba and Garbage dumping area. Some people also use the open public area as their shop to sell sand/bricks etc. I invite the administration to come and see the mess that the unauthorized hawkers and rowdy taxi drivers create every day morning in front of the Unitech Cyber Mall in Sector 40 ( just behind the Jharsa Village). on Netaji Subhash Road. What has Swatch Bharat done? It is a great movement. Great idea. But no delivery on the ground. We are paying the tax. Its being spent but pocketed and misused by the system. more
