Input tax credit from personal income tax needed

If say you as a person earn 100

You pay 30-39 pct direct tax (say top brackets)

You spend most of the 61-70 you saved.

That spending attracts GST of 18-28 pct mostly

So out of 100, you give away more than 50 pct to govt

That money is used to build some infrastructure, run administration , defense, law and order etc. and also help fellow economically weaker citizens through various subsidies.

Tax payers should get more respect.

At less than 3 pct direct tax payers (too few people) have been burdened with a very heavy ever increasing load on their backs.

Some form of input credit scheme for GST spent should be allowed against direct income tax paid

This will not only plug last mile GST evasion but increase direct tax compliance.

Second, you *have to* now tax the farmer who earns the equivalent of a middle class or more.

We know nothing changes easily but if public debates here on LC and the asks are escalated it will be a good beginning. more

Should farmers get more respect? Again intelligentsia querying farmer incomes? We take farmer's liabilities? Those suggesting taxing farmer, grow one day's food and demonstrate intellectual honesty. आपने साहित्य या आधुनिक इतिहास पढ़ा होता जब टमाटर रु 1 प्रति किलोग्राम बिकता है जबकि लागत चौगुनी होती है?
