Sri V.V. Chandrasekhar is acutely correct . As long as the TOP stalwarts of the Nation are exempted and their comments are removed from records of our Holy Houses of Parliament and Assemblies there will neither be a better rule of Welfare Laws nor the Citizen under them accustom to decency . Further , as long as the Indian Police Force is not kept Independent eliminating Political involvement like our Military Forces ; AND , as long as our Supreme Court of India is not empowered to comprise a Unit for implementation of Constitutional provisions and remedies , there cannot be a Justified enforcement of Law & order as well as the Law and Justice . more  

I feel pity for Anshu's belief on our law enforcement system. By the time verdict comes one generation will be completed and offenders may die their natural death after completing age of 60 years. Let our law enforce system be reformed first. Till then nothing can be done. more  

Further to the above, when we that is the citizen too engage and ensure law is not broken then it would be of immense value - but it is noticed citizens themselves break the law or do not facilitate the law - so in case a women or a child is being abused and the citizen is aware of the same or seen it, being mum or not involving themselves to stop this crime itself speaks a lot. People who are passive players and those women who leverage law for their own vested interest or to take revenge in this crime are worse than the criminals themselves - more  

revisiting the law and effective implementation of the law would to a great extent be a deterrent - I was working on a project which required me to refer to the law system - at the same time I was also reading and reviewing for the project the latest laws being passed which facilitated (I shall not use the word favour) women - but at the same time this law has become a tool for many women to leverage for their own vested interest - with due respects to people who have defined the scope of law, it is also critical that institutions ensure they are effectively implemented - however in certain cases which many of us may have read and seen, instructions passed by Supreme Court based on the law are not adhered to ! more
