Insurance of passengers with 50 Paisa in railways
Thanks , kindly look for a small suggestion regarding insuring passengers with 50 paisa increase in the per ticket . this will also insure some damage to railway property.
this suggestion I made the day you took the oath as R. minister on 26 may 2014 and there was a accident. Pl Levi a additional charge of 50 paisa on general ticket , rs 1 on sleeper class and rs 2 on a/c classes for insurance. This will help in following ways:
1. Every day some 4 crore passengers travel this can get revenue of rs 2.5 crore daily and same can be insured with 4 state owned insurance companies.
2. Passengers can be compensated adequately,instead of rs 2 lakh only, atleast 10 lakhs , of course more for the upper classes.
3. the system will improve the financial of insurance cos.
4 each insurance co can be given railway zones according to thier presence.
5 details can be worked out by insurance cos. once this is agreed in principle .

I have also written exactly the same to the railway minister. Though I have mentioned it as Rs. 1 per ticket for a Rs. 10,00,000 accident policy With ID of the passenger entered at the time of reservation. more
