Interest on EPF accounts

I have 2 PF accounts tagged to my UAN number. In one of my account, last contribution was in the month of April 2015 and another one is the ongoing account. Interest got credited to the ongoing account only and not to another one.

Please let me know the following:

1. Reason behind interest not getting credited to account in which last contribution was in the month of April 2015?

2. In order to earn interest over the above mentioned account, do I need to transfer the balance to the ongoing PF account?

3. If answer to the above question is YES, then please let me know the benefit of having UAN number.

login to EPFO , Or to Approach nearest RPFC more

Approach the RPFC concerned with Form 13 for transfer of previous accounts balance to current one. more
