There is a rule of INR 99 per calendar month if you are using your Indian mobile no. in abroad ( for prepaid) but they charge even you are not using. Normally any kind of usage of mobile during international roaming attract this charge. But Vodafone is charging and violating TRAI guidelines. If you complaint with exact rule then they revert otherwise forget. This happened with me so many times. Yesterday they deduct without any use and after strong email they reverted back. It happened more than 4 times . 2 times I proved them wrong and in long investigation I found they charged on name of incoming without any reason and their statement shows call received from same no. How is possible to call on same no. from same no. So be careful. more
** Most of the survice providers First deduct without assigning any reason/ logic, then if any one claims or refer back then only on customer's persuation, - they refund.. rest of the cases the companies swallow the money....... On Sun, Aug 20, 2017 at 5:17 PM, Arun Saini wrote: > more
Roaming Charges…? Till 30th Jun 2017, various states had different taxations for few taxes, which all have now been merged into single GST effective 1st July 2017. The service providers for mobile phones also had different taxations for different circles. For example, if a mobile phone taken in Bengaluru roams within the state of Karnataka, it was not called a roaming, but if it goes beyond the boundaries of the state, then roaming came into effect, possibly because of the tax rates being different in that state. But as GST is being advertised as “One Nation One Tax” then the Mobile phones should also be roaming free within the country. It may possibly need the service providers be given an all India permit, than allowing them to work in the limited boundaries of the circle they are allowed to operate. more
Dear Members, I have an experience on International Roaming with Vodafone, Airtel, Idea and Jio. Monthly charges for International Roaming activation by Vodafone, Idea and Airtel have been Rs.149 per mont. Among all these companies Vodafone has been the worst and explanations are as below, 1] Vodafone charges Rs.149 per billing cycle even if a customer has been out of the country for an hour. Vodafone activate the services on request and does not deactivate the services even if the customer returns to India unless customer has requested for deactivation. This is the worst scenario I have faced. 2] Idea and Airtel also charge at a rate of Rs.149 for 30 days and these charge only for the days the services have been used while roaming overseas. These also activate services on request and deactivate only when customer request for deactivation. Automatic deactivation upon return in India does not happen in both the companies. Both of these companies charge on prorata basis. 3] I had experience with Jio in the year 2016. International Roaming was found activated at no charges at that time. Upon return automatic deactivation also happened. In my opinion the ideal situation is what I experienced in case of Jio and the charges on prorata basis for International Roaming should be payable by the Customer. more
TRAI is the controller ; Its a independent body. That's the problem.. They are doing good job. But they are not interested to enforce the same Regulation or Order or direction to implement it. Thats their failure. Why because you the Members are not interested to make TRAI fruitful. If you are interested , please tell TRAI to enforce the Regulations/ directions or Order , they have made . For example : Airtel is not conducting Customer Education Workshops in Kerala for the last 2 years.. No Appeal sitting for the last 2 years. When I got ant complaints from any customer , immediately they will solve without conducting the Appeal sitting. I have made many complaints . But all are neglected by TRAI . Now they are thinking that Ombudsman for Telecom. See what is the purpose of TRAI since there is Ministry of Telecommunication, Telecom Commission and TDSAT etc.. are exist powerful.. If TRAI is not interested on consumer grievances better to close or merge with Ministry of Telecommunications. more
