International Travel
We may have a good month worth of international travel in Europe due to my husband's work. What phone connection is recommended. Have heard that Italy and France are realy bad in terms of cell phone costs and Indian mobile companies also take you for a ride.
What do people suggest. Reliance, Airtel, Idea, Vodafoen. What plan? Just dont want a 40000 bill when we come back (happened with a family member of ours last year)

Hello Asha. Use Viber app for speech purposes and whatsapp for messaging. Both are free apps for smartphone. The only requirement is a wi-fi accessibility. more

Hello asha, check for lyca and lebara. Both are very good and charge genuine rate. Dont go for matrix. As i commented in one of my post that Matrix is a fraud company. They claim something else and then charge very higher rate. I bought matrixwhen coming from india to UK at that time they promised best customer care and best rates but when we came here we find everything opposite.they charge very hogh rates. We called their customer care many a times but they have different service provider so nothing is in their hand. You can check one of my post in which 2-3 more people shared same experience with matrix. more

There are few service provider for international travelers, one of them is Matrix. They offer relative cheap outgoing calls and free incoming. Suggest you check at Airport (new duty free area and on the way to boarding gates) and find out the best package for France/Italy. more
