Invoicing Standards needed in India
See attached invoice. One cannot see the details. Need of the hour. India should have a retail invoicing standard. It should have a set number of minimum fields and must be printed on paper where its
visible.
In this case I cant even see the details. Isnt that my right as a buyer??

1)Invoice is key document to confuse the consumers and evading GST (subsequently income tax), I don’t think the Govt has done anything for this. Central and State Govt should ask opinion of field officers for this . 2)The Ministry of Finance (GST) and Ministry Consumer Affairs should (together) prescribe the standard invoice format, for all sellers whether they pay GST or Not. 3) During the Central Excise regime, essential ingredients of invoice were prescribed, but that was for tax paying units/industries. more

There can not be any standard (BIS) for invoice, rather there should be a laid down guidelines by the Ministry of Consumer affairs. more

One should really see the bill sent out by the Delhi Jal Board. It's something like posted by Ms Radha Puri.......a mere strip out of a computer. As compared to that the Electricity and the Gas bills are available on a standard printed letterhead of the company. more

Why this cannot be printed on regular paper instead of thermal, the print of which is lost within no time. We are not saving trees by using some form of paper for it. more
