IPC 509 for verbal remarks against women
I went through whats happened with Randi Zuckerberg. US should also have a version of IPC 509. If I understand right if someone passes sexually lewd remarks on a lady in India and there is proof, the person can be booked under this with imprisonment of 3 years. Can lawyers police people experts in the circle shed light on this. more

As mentioned above there are Law's, Ruls and Regulations. The Question is who is going to implement it in the manner it meant for. Unfortunately there is NO other mechanism except the POLICE, which got their own way. Let us assess that How many crimes which get registered - only 15 to 20%. What about the Others. It is not getting registered. So that there is NO CRIME AT ALL. One can just imagine only thouse who suffer due to this system more

Women Safety/heritage laws since 76 article, 86 Act too willfully set aside and indecent presentation/representation is the strict proof. Women individuality on the other way is challenging . On 29th Nov., on a sitting Train, a Lady of about 28 - 32 was asked to take the 3 seater where two ladies Reserved seats in the same cabin while 2 different males got seats with her, in the same cabin ' SHE REFUSED TO ADJUST WITH LADIES IN THE SEAT AND, sat with the 2 males all along the Journey of 6 hours . Some issues and incidents appears to be very much different in normality . more

Extract of section 509 IPC answers Ms Jain's query. All I can add is that section 509 IPC is a cognisable offence which means FIR has to be registered for investigation. It is also non bailable means only a court of law and not the police can bail out the accused. I wonder that no one thought of shifting her to an identical seat in the first class and make a man keep the company of the alleged rascal instead of offering an unworkable and unfair reseating arrangement. more

Can law be implemented properly in our country under the prevailing conditions. Politicians are forgetting Rajdharm at the cost of country. It seems that power is more important than the country as religion and caste are being made issues instead taking steps for benefits of common man so that all can live in peace.
