IRCTC ONLINE TICKETING: NEW FEATURES – HELP NEEDED. :
We’ve recently noticed some new features on the IRCTC ticketing screen that are quite puzzling. One such feature is "Introducing Trip Guarantee", which states: Get 3x the refund amount if your ticket is not confirmed. Use this to upgrade your travel by Air, Bus, or Train. This sounds appealing and reasonable at first glance.
However, why does IRCTC take a "beat around the bush" approach? Offering three times the refund amount while suggesting an upgrade seems counterintuitive. Wouldn't this lead to financial losses for them?
Another feature we noticed is a message displayed when 256 tickets are available, stating: "Get a full refund for cancellation at ₹95 per ticket." This raises questions—what exactly does this refund at ₹95 per ticket mean? Is this a service charge for the refund, or something else?

All detection team functions in association with all those involved train tickets, hence abolishing middle men is very remote. Still if wait list ticket cancelled, railways/ irctc detects service charges,?. more

Why complicate the process? Why follow airlines? Make available all tickets for common reservation. No RAC. Have a max for wait listed tickets (AI can help). When ticjet cancelked, autonarically move waitlist tickets up. Charges for cancellation if confirmed tickets, since they are blocking someone else's confirmed reservation. If reservation not confirmed before 4 hours of departure, full refund. more

This could be like what the airlines is doing. If you want a refundable fare pay a little higher. more

Irctc does not give guarantee. But ticket booking in Irctc does need changes. Many popular routes and Tatkal booking is manipulated to favour agents. Agents should be removed totally and railway should have a vigilance team to monitor online tickets booking to find out and eliminate fraudulent activities in booking. more
