We have observed multiple complaints through this circle about non compliance to food prices. Attached, please find the IRCTC price list. We suggest you save this in your mobile phone for ready reference.

If you do find that you are being charged more for IRCTC catering than the prices outlined in the attached, kindly show the same to the servers.

If the matter is not resolved, kindly share the same in the circle so it can be escalated to the IRCTC management for action. more

It is a good suggestion to have the Price printed on each food item pack of IRCTC.... it will largely address the problem. more
Yes, every coach at all entrances, on the walls inside, on station platforms should display the costs. In Kerala, cost of a cup of coffee or tea is Rs.8; there have been vendors demanding even Rs.10 /cup. The cups are so small that the actual amount delivered is much less than the stipulated 150 ml., on the excuse hot spillovers can be hurtful! An egg biriyani is Rs.60, chicken biriyani Rs.90, & veg biriyani Rs.50. A vegetarian meal is Rs.40, while a fish curry meal is Rs.70 [usually there is no fish; one is lucky if one gets fish bone in the curry!]. A vegetable cutlet or fried banana is Rs.15 each, vadas of all types Rs.10 each. These rates are certainly much higher than the list above. Is there any way to check the veracity of these prices & to stop such fleecing? more
We poor indians so will never be able to stop loots. more
What ever the rate quality of food will remain poor because it is nearly impossible to keep check on each and every contractor. We have one of most corrupt society in the world and black sheeps outnumber the honest in government department and railways is no exception. It is only when passengers decide not to buy food item in train and buy it on stations then PC contractors will surrender. Even tea is sold at Rs.10 (less than 70ml) onboard. Other food packets are sold at twice or thrice of actual rate. Dispaly of rate on packets should be made mandatory. more
These prices should come as a drop menu when food is being ordered with an option to send the same thru SMS when ordered just like PNR and other details when ticket is ordered. more
