IRCTC Server Capacity Doubled

To address some of the issues faced during booking in the last 10 days, IRCTC has recently added two high-capacity servers that have doubled peak-time efficiency.

This has raised the booking capacity to over 14,000 tickets per minute from the existing 7,200. The capacity augmentation has been done as an immediate step to cater to the summer-time demand for tatkal tickets per IRCTC.

The two HP Itanium servers have now helped raise the capacity of concurrent connections to 3,00,000, while the facility for enquiries has trebled to 3,000 per minute. Logging in on the IRCTC's website has become smoother and more efficient."

Absolutly important and urgent action required on CAPTCHA image. The quality during takal timing (10 AM to 12 PM) should be same like any other timing. Moreover don't understand why so many CAPTCHA codes required, during login, before updating payment details, before making payment etc. Why not one code during login is not enough??? Is IRCTC website is that unsecured??? Since login is HTTPS (secure) rethink of having multiple CAPTCHA. This plus cumbersome codes adding more complex and literally making impossible to book any tatkal ticket through website. more  
Yes Captcha image quality absolute pathetic. . Need serious improvement. more  
CAPTCHA quality of image must be improved...Illegible and angular/offset fonts must be replaced by plain legible ( HELVETICA, ARIAL type ) of fonts. We are only trying to avoid Robotic OCR Recognition then adopt other HUMANLY recognisable methods...Today situation is such that humans cannot recognise, maybe the ROBOT can. more  
Dear sir. The time taken from to and fro payment gateway majority of time goes beyond expectations and confirm ricke5s getting waitlisted till we return. You can have the option of booking the ticket for 5 minutes and if payment is not received auto cancellation of the same resulting of less stress. more  
till date captcha wrong is the message used to delay the log in. Next one is - this service is temporarily not available- is the message shown for the first 5minutes of opening to delay the booking.But there is some reasonable increase in booking speed more
