IRCTC website

The present website of IRCTC is very combursome and difficult to operate while booking as well cancelling the tickets by senior citizens like me. Previous website first ask you to log in and then open for booking of tickets as well cancelation of the booked tickets. At present the website is full of unwanted advertisements and first ask you to plan your travel as well PNR status of your booked tickets. It is very difficult too go to the correct place for cancellation of booked tickets. Why the IRCTC authorities take into cognizance of the difficulties faced by the travelling public and restore the old website for easy browsing of the website.

Will the fellow public also join in this issue and help us to restore the previous website of IRCTC for easy handling of the various services.

We value very much the support of the fellow citizens on this score.

It is true that the IRCTC website is thoroughly user un-friendly. I got a doubt that the MD of IRCTC must have engaged his own cronies to prepare this webpage and I am also sure that the developers of this IRCTC site never travels by train. Hence, they never got the taste of the website. 1. That useless Didi comes up in saree to help us!!! 2. Heavy graffics are thrown in for advertisements. 3. Even now people confused to locate the Log in point and in App it is very difficult. 4. The cancellation button is kept at a secret location. 5. When trying to file TDR, the App says, you are eligible for cancellation. When we say cancel - then it is says you cannot cancel after chart preparation and ask will you File TDR. All bullshit. 6. There is no scope for changing Boarding Point in App. And there are dozens more. But what is the point my dear. The IRCTC people never reads these and never take any remedial measures. more  
Useless site. It requires high speed internet which is not available in 80% part of india. Consume data and work slow. Ministry must pay attention. more  
IRCTC must do something about the website. It has lots of advertisements thrown at users face every-time the user logs in. It frustrates me especially during tatkal hours. Due to the irritating advertisements I have installed a plugin. Also, the website has some issue with cancellation and viewing booked ticket history. From past few days I'm trying to cancel tickets but the buffering never stops and every-time I have to refresh page coz, there is no other option of escape or back or close. Even the lady (pop-up) can't help us but adds upto the irresponsibility of the site handlers. more  
The most irritating aspect to me is that the system do not permit to print the ticket. Many a times SMS is also not received. Just imagine the situation that a traveller has lost his mobile phone or the handset has become defunct. Will the TTE find the passenger's berth whereabout? Just as there are people having more than one handset and multiple connections(SIMs), also there are quite a huge no. of people - who don't possess a mobile phone. Also,there are people who can't use mobile phone beyond receiving/answering calls and dialing a no. to make calls. Think of the situation a passenger missed a connecting train - because of late running of the train in which he/she was travelling. The TTE of the connecting train asks to provide evidence for late running of the train and that he/she was a passenger of that train. Sorry to make an abrasive comment that root cause of such problems are because of the people framing policy/procedures - are totally detached from the ground realities - how and where the shoe pinches and how the agonies are like! more
