Is Amazon dying in India?

- No quick delivery (like flipkart minutes or Big Basket)
- Outdated User Interface, no dark mode. Mobile app is just a wrapper to web app
- just a few bank integrations
- Many products do not show availability even though they are available (we can manually select a seller and get it)
- Introduction of games and challenges which is more of a gimmick and time pass
- Deletion of user reviews if they are unfavourable to seller or Amazon

they are testing their q comm model in bengaluru. Their q com model is named Tez
truly said looks like they are not keeping up with times and also for the same product the product cost is higher there with respect to flipkart etc e commerce sites
Amazon's position in India isn't necessarily "dying," but it does seem to be facing increasing competition from local players who are offering more tailored experiences for Indian consumers. Flipkart, with its aggressive pricing and localized features, along with other players like Reliance's JioMart, have made Amazon's dominance less absolute. While Amazon is investing heavily in India with plans to expand its infrastructure, improve its service offerings, and provide more competitive pricing, it may need to rethink some of its strategies to remain competitive, especially when it comes to user experience, faster deliveries, and integrating with local payment systems. In short, Amazon still holds a significant share of the market in India, but it’s facing intense competition and needs to address these pain points to retain and grow its customer base.
I believe that this very comparison is totally wrong. Amazon is usually used by those, who plan and place orders, which get delivered within next 2-3 days or even more, but the prices for the commodity are much lesser than their normal price. Big Basket and others like it, on the other hand, deliver items within minutes, but charge extra, over and above the normal price. Then the question gets converted into - whether the number persons planning and buying is getting reduced, whereas number of persons opting for instant delivery is getting increased? Answer is YES. Those belong to the new generation, due to their current working norms, have lesser time for such planning and opt for quick deliveries by paying extra. Those belonging to previous generation mindset, plan and get the materials cheaper. And.... the number of persons carrying out planning is getting reduced, Amazon or no Amazon.
True. I bought Godrej Cow ghee during last Deepawali. It was completely adulterated. I complained but no response. Finally, one CC executive given me a an email to lodge my complaint. I sent a mail but no reply? There is no recording of complaint over phone, every time we have to narrate story. I doubt, a few items sold are fake or adulterated with a discount. Be careful.
