Is Big Basket profiteering on essential commodities

See attached screenshots.

The Govt has said 100 rs for 200 ml sanitizer. If one sells more than that its profiteering.

See attached to sell at Govt price big basket is showing 60% discount as if they are doing a favour. They arent. Then comes the real trick. You only get 1 at the Govt price.

If you want to but the second bottle big basket will sell at over 3 times the price..

This is called new age black marketing via ecommerce

LocalCircles must immediately escalate this.

Violation under ec act is 7 years of jail for big basket promoters. more

The Government has fixed the price without considering the real and varying cost of the raw materials especially alcohol, its availability, labour cost and manpower availability in the present time. It is wrong and impractical on the part of Government to fix a price and reduced the incentive for the economy to make reasonable profit. The Cost of the raw materials especially IPA (isopropyl alcohol) has skyrocketed after this crisis and has become scarce. While controlling the price of finished product, it is reasonable to expect the Government to fix and provide the raw material at the price they have taken for calculating the control price. “Laissez-faire” is a necessity for the appropriate functioning of the market in our economy. The price control process should be by controlling supply and demand and not by autocratic price fixing, the result of which is being felt in the market. The Government’s act of blanket price fixing is the cause of reduction of availability of the product in the market at a time when it is urgently needed for a life-saving purpose. more
Let us take it as restriction in allowing more purchases than the immediate need. more
No doubt, lack of seriousness in Govt. administration invites such malpractice in E Commerce. Despite repeated representations, still no firm action is initiated. One shouldn't expect much from an incompetent Govt. that rules the country. Such issue was raised since last two months. more
Even Flipkart is doing the same! Also Bigbasket is profiteering by taking orders of only 2-3 items and charging Rs 50 for delivery!  Sunday, April 5, 2020, 03:31, Sandhya Agarwal wrote: more
Everyone who is selling daily needs is making tons of black money. Surprisingly, it never occurred to govt that their orders will result in vendors are making loads of black money and a black economy . Besides every vendor says that since he has to pay bribe to move his materials despite exempted as essential services, he is charging more. Now this doesn't happen in other devp countries with whom we keep comparing ourselves. The vegetable vendor only one in our colony will be buying a toyota innova in a months time and Of course i will be selling my maruti to sustain myself. more
