Mr Sridhar Mohan. If it is written natural mineral water its from natural source but if its Packaged Drinking Water that means its ground water treated by R.O. Membrane Technology. when containers come back from market first it is washed at outside washing area than it is transferred to jar washing area where outer wash, Inside wash , hot water wash is done by machine or manually. At the time of filling again it is washed by U.V. & Ozone treated Drinking Water . After filling its kept for 48 hours mean while it is tested and if found satisfactory result then it is supplied in market. more  

Why only the bottled water ? Cold drinks and other materials while being transported, no one bothers about the hygenic part. There is no one to tell them. more

Bottled water in any size or form of Containers is safe provided the container is bearing genuine ISI Mark and tamperproofness of the container is ensured at the time of receipt . As per FSSAI Regulations on the subject , it is Mandatory for the manufacturers of both Packaged Drinking Water and Natural Mineral Water to get the licence from BIS as per respective Indian Standard ( IS 14543 and IS 13428 respectively). In accordance with the requirements stipulated in the Indian Standard as well as the Scheme of Testing and Inspection specified by BIS , the BIS Certified licensees are required to follow the proper Hygienic Conditions, Packing conditions in permitted types of Plastic containers , including cleaning and disinfection of all the types of re-usable containers. The product is required to be tested batch -wise by the licence holder for its conformity to respective Indian Standard. However , in case of any grievance related to the quality and safety of the bottled water , there is provision for lodging a formal complaint with Bureau of Indian Standards. more
