Is CM really concerned about pollution

It is now quite evident that living in Delhi is equivalent to having seven or six cigarettes a day. Based on The Disability-Adjusted Life Year (DALYs) attributable to air pollution for major non-communicable diseases, here a list of diseases that can happen to people who are exposed to a higher level of air pollution:
Chronic obstructive lung disease
Ischemic heart disease
Stroke
Diabetes
Lung cancer which is equal to those consuming tobacco

CM - you dont seem concerned at all?? more

Yes. People seem to be availing the tirath yatra from Government fund and then return to criticize him on every front. How much your own contribution is in stopping/fighting pollution in your city/area? Could you prevail on fire crackers being burst during Diwali and in these 2 months of marriage when the groom arrives in Baraat? For everything if you want Delhi Government to do it, then sorry to say your expectations are either misplaced or misdirected. more
The situation in Delhi owes a lot to its air shed. Wind movements are extremely slow, and pollutants accumulate and hang like a haze. What can the CM possibly do about it? As for the local sources of pollution, steps like promoting public transport and scrapping old vehicles need strong policy support from the Central government. The CM focuses on areas where he has the power to make a difference: healthcare and education. more
Every body is concerned, But on ground nobody do their best. more
CM is fully concerned as he is living in Delhi. But what he could do in the situation? Which are the laws he is not implementing within his powers? Whatever we are experiencing in environment now is the result of deeds the citizens have done over the last many years, may be since last 20 years or more and at the same time Governing bodies prefer to remain unaware. Environment improvement needs long term strategy in a manner that the citizens are not put to avoidable hardships. I am not able to accept scrapping of 15 year old petrol cars those are roadworthy under the laws applicable to these personal cars specially owned by senior citizens who would not buy a new car for their requirements now and would prefer to use old but fit car. more
Atleast this Government which people of Delhi elected is fighting a lone battle knowing that people are just as selfish and deserters as his own partymen who are opportunists and have ditched him at first opportunity. AAP and its committed band of fighters are not just fighting the battle for Delhi-ites but also engaged in self persecution at the hand of center and its stooges who find fault with everything that AAP does. Take for example the NGT's recent order slapping a fine of 25 Cr recoverable from MP's and MLA's of AAP...is the pollution in Delhi caused by AAP? Aren't the Hinduwadi mindset of people who defied Supreme Court's order and burst crackers and still continue to do so despite poor air quality not the offenders? What has been done to them? Nothing...a few people were rounded up for the sake of showing activity by police and I am sure they have been let off. Even SC which has so many high profile case on its hand is having ample time when it comes to dealing with AAP. SC too not to be left behind slapped a 2 Lac fine on AAP for late response in SDMC revert. So when all the agencies and all the system gang up against a party which is still working...isn't it unfair to blame the people who work and demoralize them? Take a look around at other states....poverty...unemployment, backwardness in education( people need to educate others against pollution too). It seems Delhi-ites need Militant Ruler rather than one who works. more
