Is Delhi Govt engaging in controlled reporting

I have been observing reporting by Delhi’s Health Minister regularly. It seems that what is being reported is artificial, limited daily increases as opposed to whats reality. From 7000 to 10000 to 14000 to 17000 and to 20000 likely today while if u talk to lab walas and look at your networks the surge seems huge tuesday wednesday as many had symptoms on monday.

Would like health minister to clarify or report things as is rather than controlled increae if thats the case. more

Controlled reporting is par for the course. During the second wave, the figures given by the government were many orders of magnitude, i.e. about 7 times, underreported! This finding comes from mathematical modelling by Bhramar Mukherjee, professor of biostatistics, epidemiology and global public health, who has done path-breaking work on India’s COVID-19 experience at the University of Michigan. Cannot ourselves see the governments statistics add up, even empirically if we see that all the crematoria were overwhelmed and all the last rites in many a case had to be performed in open parking lots or even directly dumped into the Ganga if found dead, when several such corpses have been recovered downstream, with some good samaritan performing their cremations as a humanitarian act. more
Delhi Government appears to be providing only lip service as its announcements are not followed by concrete actions. CM is taking more interest in the forthcoming elections in other States hence the Delhi's interests are secondary for him. Wish he looks after Delhi and not let it not reach the stage which people faced during the 2nd Covid-19 Wave towards end of April and beginning of May last year. more
Agree, reported figures are grossly understated. But that is Delhi govts style, appear to have things well in control rather than face harsh reality. more
