Is drug approval trustworthy in India

45 samples of medicines were found to be of substandard quality, according to a report of the CDSCO. HP-based manufacturing units have 13 samples of substandard quality. The most basic drug, Paracetamol, samples of which were drawn from HP units, was found to be of poor quality.

Friends we need to get Govt to straighten this drug regulation mess and throw out any corrupt crooks in central and state drug control. more

If the drug regulator has done his job what is this hue and cry about. If some unregulated drug manufacturing units exist in a citizen's vicinity, whose responsibility is it to bring it to notice of the regulator with prima-face evidence (not rumours). I haven't come accross any cases of patients getting effected by poor quality drugs. Why should we make any noise on non-existing issue except to get publicity I feel that should be avoided for utility of this forum for national welfare. more
