Is drug approval trustworthy in India

45 samples of medicines were found to be of substandard quality, according to a report of the CDSCO. HP-based manufacturing units have 13 samples of substandard quality. The most basic drug, Paracetamol, samples of which were drawn from HP units, was found to be of poor quality.

Friends we need to get Govt to straighten this drug regulation mess and throw out any corrupt crooks in central and state drug control. more

With the kind of corrupt and avaricious government servants we have, everything we do will be of poor quality. We will remain for ever a third world, fourth rate country. Amen. more
Corruption by the enforcing agencies is the root cause of all troubles in India more
Any approval can be compromised due to prevailing culture of bribe giving and taking. Corruption has become a way of life in our country. more
No State Govt. is taking concrete steps to control corruption and increase transperancy n efficiency in delivery of service to public. 40 years old work culture is still in place. more
Glycerin supplier and manufacturer also to be questioned along with syrup manufacturer RM testing and finished formula, process. RCA to be done involving all more
If the drug regulator has done his job what is this hue and cry about. If some unregulated drug manufacturing units exist in a citizen's vicinity, whose responsibility is it to bring it to notice of the regulator with prima-face evidence (not rumours). I haven't come accross any cases of patients getting effected by poor quality drugs. Why should we make any noise on non-existing issue except to get publicity I feel that should be avoided for utility of this forum for national welfare. more
