Is food distribution by Govt not happening properly in Noida
Young kids, son of a driver and a tailor, now jobless, begging for food supplies outside a 24/7 outlet in Noida. So are scores of women-- outside supermarkets and liquor stores, pleading shoppers. Urban poor out on the streets in Noida. See attached.

I am heading one NGO, distributing ration to weaker section. Niti Aayog wanted us to coordinate with district authorities to help the poor. We wrote to Authorities but no response was received. Now we are distributing ration on our own. It would have better, had this activity could have been done in coordination with District authorities. They would helped us in identification process and also in distribution to avoid duplication. More than 20 NGOs are working in NOIDA to help the weaker section in lock-down period. more

who knows many people may be lining up for FREE food, regardless of their own capability. This is not un-common. I wonder how many of us have contributed in this effort to feed the poor? more

This is happening at Greater Noida as well, outside large grocery stores where people when they come out laden with groceries are targeted and begged for aid. This has been happening much much before lock down. I believe a few select people have learnt the art of making consumers guilty when they come of such shopping complexes with laden carts and hence are soft targets who easily give the (seeming) beggar monetary assistance or some articles from their cart. If you will notice closely mostly are healthy, does not look malnourished and does not fit into the typical profile of a poor beggar. However, in this melee some genuine cases may be left out too. It is suggested that whenever you see such cases click their photo and the region in which they are and send it to the government authorities/ DM office. They surely will take care. more

Majority of such persons say that they have not received anything. Our maid also verified that NGOs are helping out, not the govt. directly. I don't know what the truth is. more

What I have heard is different.I think Yogi Govt is supplying rations and money by giving calls to all on Aadhar Cards.They are distributing the necessities to ladies of the houses and it is a great step.What photographs you have posted may be true but they used to be like this prior to lock down too. more
