Is it a must to file GSTR even if there is no billing transaction in a month ?

I have a Pvt Ltd company in which last month there was zero billing and expense. Is it still necessary to file GSTR where there is just no transaction or we can skip it this month. Would be grateful for your advice Thanks more

Yes, a nil return is a must. more
it is mandatory to file the Tax Return whether it income tax. GST or sales Tax/Vat( earlier). You have a private limited company you have to complete the compliance of ROC also. more
In case of NIL return it is Rs. 20+20 per day for GSTR 3B and Rs. 100+100 for GSTR 1. - WOW ISN'T THAT A LOT ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE ARE 0 REVENUES!! I GUESS THESE CHARGES SHOULD BE WAIVED WHEN THERE IS ZERO REVENUES!! ESPECIALLY SINCE THERE IS NO COST TO THE GOVT WHEN THE NIL RETURN IS FILED BY THE SELLER!! ITS JUST INFO REPORTED, AND NO COST TO THE GOVT FOR FINDING A JUSTIFICATION TO CHARGE FEES!! NO PROCESSING OF FORMS COST OR ANYTHING LIKE SO ESPECIALLY SINCE THE RETURNS ARE FILED ONLINE OR EVEN IF MANUAL, THE SELLER BEARS THE CHARGES FOR THE FORMS ETC.!! ITS ALWAYS ARM-TWISTING FOR THE MARGINAL, SMALL AND MAY BE MEDIUM SELLERS, WHILE THE TOP 20% FIND WAYS N MEANS TO AVOID AND EVADE TAXES! ALRIGHT AN INCOME N REVENUE TO THE EXCHEQUER BUT TRUE PROGRESS OF THE NATION WILL HAPPEN ONLY WHEN THE TOP BRASS GETS INTO THE TAX COVER, WHETHER ON THEIR OWN BIZ ETHICS STANDARDS OR BY LAW AND BY FORCE!! more
Yes, it is mandatory to file GSTR3B and GSTR1 even if there is no transaction. Late fees is payable in case returns are delayed. In case of NIL return it is Rs. 20+20 per day for GSTR 3B and Rs. 100+100 for GSTR 1. more
In case no return is filed for any particular month, next month return cant be filed until previous return is filed. Late fees is automatically added in next month return. more
A simple logic is that, you know about your company that there were no sales but how come the tax department know about you unless you file the return!! more
