Why the SBI forcefully charging for closing a bank account ? Why a petty saving bank account holder be put to such cohesion without even giving an early warning ? If that adds to our so-called economic revolution then how come some other banks do not have this same rule !!

One message in whatsapp is being circulated .some hotels are displaying notices that we need not pay our bills it will be collected from our grand children. In banks also some will take the loan and run away. Banks can not do any thing to them as they are big ones. Government also writes them off. But the loss is loss it has to be recovered . now the banks have a notice that you pay your grand fathers bill. I don't know my grand father had a bank account. Since banks say, i must trust. Let us pay the bills and close the accounts to save our grand children. Tag line is, you should not keep cash at home. Enjoy where ever you are, may be on pan or on the fire. The Bank has no right to charge the customer for closing the account. I am not aware that any Bank has ever informed the customer at the time of opening the Account that there will be charges at the time of closing the account and if so what are those charges. They cannot enforce new terms unilaterally. more  
SBI has become a big Baniya . Are people aware that the loan given to big business companies and if they do not pay the money then the Bank Employees negotiate the company 1.Their interest is waived. 2.Even portion of their loan is waived. All depends on the negotiation. Thus the hard earned money of the common Tax payer.
All Bank employees take bribe and give out money to such chore Business man knowing full well that the loan will not return. Now when RBI
has stared looking into bad loan. The banks are trying to raise or add new many miscellaneous charges in order to reduce the losses more  
Dear all...... Inexplicable vagaries are taking place in banking sectors which are almost allowed to continue unchecked for various reasons by all authorities including the regulatory authority. I am sorry, I am not able to agree with the observations of our learned friend Sri RAJNDER MUNJAL ji. According to him SBI is a service industry... It can never be termed as a Service Industry. SBI and all other related Banks both Public Sector and Private Sector Banks are only Commercial Banks. The element of "SERVICE" can not be attributable. Because they are all mainly commercial oriented, all such Banks are able to multiply their financial growth from out of each rupee of customer. They are going to the extent of knowingly lending loans disproportionately to their interested people who are turned out to be unchecked defaulters. The customers and general public are rather forced to find fault with the concerned officers who sanctioned such loans turned out to be bad debtors; as a causative factor becoming responsible for swindling huge amounts of banks which are no less than the public monies. Let the assets of all commercial banks be calculated and assumed as to where from they were all acquired. The question arises as to whether such banks which are mainly of commercial nature, be called as service institutions. Supposing they themselves claim either for the sake of popularity or publicity or for the purpose of diverting the attention of a common customer/citizen, we are not here to support their contention. One of my friends who is a senior citizen aged 70 plus recently shared his experience after his visit to a bank for certain transaction(s). There was a long queue line and he sought for assistance being a senior citizen. He was told to be in the general queue by one of the front desk bank employees, where there is no separate queue for senior citizens. No courtesy was shown towards a Senior Citizen by the front desk employees of the Bank. Under such circumstances can anybody call it as at least humane in nature leave alone the so called self styled "Service". So, we can not ascribe the term "Service" to the commercial banks. It is enough if the bank employees do their assigned duties correctly towards customers without resorting to unnecessary hurdles, malpractices and thereby getting adversely commented upon. The RBI being regulatory authority over Banks gave directions/advises not to resort for charging fixed quarterly amounts and deducting from the accounts of the customers irrespective of whether there has been any transaction or not and stipulated to charge SMS alert fee on actual usage basis vide the RBI Circular No. RBI/2013-14/381 DBOD. No. Dir. BC. 67/13.10.00/2013-14 dt. 26/11/2013. The banking institutions disregarding the RBI advises collected crores of rupees including the SBI. The question arises as to whether the illicitly collected amounts by the Banking Institutions allover India from all the customers much against to the advises of the RBI in the said circular, were refunded to the customers properly or appropriated by the Banks. Can such clandestine acts be claimed by the banking sectors as service to customers? Let them not cheat the customers just like any other unorganised commercial sectors. Since the occasion has come, let me share my experience with the SBI only. An SMS was sent to me stating that my SBI Debit card ending with XXXX1012 is deactivated. I made a complaint online to know the reason for its deactivation vide my complaint No. IB142525091333. It was replied that Transaction rights in Internet Banking could not be approved for unavoidable reasons etc. I sent another complaint asking to provide the rule position for unavoidable reasons, who initiated the deactivation and that what necessitated to do so vide complaint No.IB142525139520. It was replied that Transaction rights for Internet Banking since provided. It was false and misleading reply. I never asked for deactivation of my internet transaction and it was continuing without interruption. I sent another complaint to justify the correspondence vide complaint No. IB142525152585. It was again replied that Transaction rights for Internet Banking since provided. It is not known as to why it was repeated like that. Then I had to again make another complaint asking the reasons to avoid giving correct reply vide complaint No. IB142525172884. It was replied again that "Transaction rights in Internet Banking could not be approved for unavoidable reasons etc. Lastly I sent another complaint asking as to what those unavoidable reasons are vide complaint No. IB142525187617. There was no reply to it. In that regard I sought for the clarifications:  1. As to why my SBI ATM Debit card was deactivated without my consent and what is the rule position for such deactivation without the consent from customer. 2. Why misleading replies were given without transparency causing inconvenience. 3. I sought action to be taken against those who intervened with my rights on my own SBI Debit card without providing any reasons and for resorting to give misleading and non-transparent replies vide complaint in the portal of Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) vide No.DEABD/E/2016/08657.  It was closed by giving an irrelevant reply. I had to send another complaint by noting down the above references vide the complaint No. DEABD/E/2016/09234. It was also closed by falsely stating that "A reply from our Kakinada branch is browsed and attached. The customer is advised to do accordingly". No such reply browsed was attached. Again I had to prefer a complaint vide complaint No. DEABD/E/2016/10153. It was also closed without resolving the issues.  Again I was compelled to send another complaint on the irresponsible reply vide my complaint No. DEABD/E/2016/11436. It was once again replied mischievously and misleadingly stating that "Reply browsed and attached" without attaching any reply.  Again on their irresponsible reply I had to make another complaint vide my complaint No. DEABD/E/2016/12339. Again it was aimed at to close the complaint without redressing the grievance and without even giving any transparent and relevant reply. Then I had to send complaints to the Directorate of Public Grievances (DPG) vide my complaints: DPG/B/2016/81337, DPG/B/2016/81439, DPG/B/2016/81525 & DPG/B/2016/81559 in which again I was asked to address the Department of Financial Services (Banking Division). It is not known as a to why the matters are getting tossed months together without any accountability. In one of the e-mails sent by the concerned Chief Manager of State Bank of India (Treasury Branch), Kakinada, while asking me to provide my credentials in respect of my account there, he expressed that he had given a strong warning to the concerned employee who deactivated my ATM and meddled with it and thereupon I asked him to provide a copy of the warning memo issued to him at his end. But it was not provided to me. Now the matter is being dealt with the Director of Public Grievances and it is pending redressal. The SBI while in correspondance, replaced mistakenly with another ATM card in the place of other debit card ending with XXXX4632 and replied to the Director of DPG that my debit card ending with XXXX1012 was not at all issued. Then I raised a question as to how come I got an SMS to my mobile stating that my SBI Debit card ending with XXXX1012 was deactivated. The great Director of DPG also in a funny way asked me knowingly deviating the issue that whether there is any problem in the transaction with the new ATM card that was issued. I replied him to get the issue resolved so far as my ATM debit card ending with XXXX1012 which was messaged to be deactivated and that he doesn't need to enquire about my transactions with any other card(s). The problem is that the Director pretends as if he did not know the issue in question regarding my SBI Debit card ending with XXXX1012 which was messaged to be deactivated and which is currently in my possession. When I categorically explained him about it, he being a government functionary is unable or pretending to be not able to question the SBI authorities concerned about their false statement of not at all issued me the card ending with XXXX1012. Still the issue is under correspondance When the state of affairs are prevailing like this, the right thing what I feel is to collectively give a fight against the errant by gathering several such experiences of all the circle members and to file a case as suggested by our learned friend Sri Anand Kumar Gupta ji to file a PIL or in such other way of taking up the matter in an appropriate Forum by taking valuable suggestions of Law knowing luminaries of our circle for the common good of all and also to put an end to the vagaries of the banking sectors more so the largest bank like SBI. more
