is it ethical to collect super fast charge by RAILWAY for trains REGULARLY RUNNING LATE?
Recently I travelled by Train No. 12792 from Varanasi to Secundrabad. It started right time but till destination it was 4 hours late. I checked on railyatri app and found THE TRAIN IS RUNNING LATE MORE THAN 60% TIME SINCE LAST 3 YEARS. How ethical for railway to charge us on the name of supper fast ? more

Administration of Railways is in a big mess for variety of reasons there is no punctuality of arrival time of trains and they don't change the timings also according to periodic assessments. Issuing unreserved tickets without consideration of availability of place for the public to travel decently is another major concern.There is a over flow of unauthorized passengers in the reserved compartments due to this.There is no basic system exists to monitor many such things. more

It is definitely a situation of deficiency in service. You are charging fare for super fast running and the train is running like a local passenger train and hence Railway has failed to provide the service as per contractual terms. The question is Railways has not been made accountable so far to the service standards and hence such deficiencies are on increase. This is also evident from one of the prime time programme on NDTV recently. The Railways have to come out with benchmark of services voluntarily with penalties and compensation in not meeting these benchmark of services. Can we expect from Railways a code of conduct for adhering to the service level. The passengers have been complaining even for non-refund of fare despite issue of TDR and more shockingly even in cases where the train got cancelled. more

The dramas enacted by people like Lalu Prasad yadav must be stopped by Railways. He declared ordinary express trains also as Super Fast Trains and passengers were levied with SF charges improving railway income, a cheap political gimmick. I wonder how the IIMs praised his such actions! Most of the trains are normal express trains converted to Super Fast. Such actions may please be reverted at least now. In todays' times, increasing ticket fare by a rupee in ordinary class would not matter much since the daily incomes also increased for them substantively. more

Why are you linking with running of the trains? In the first place they are only normal express trains tagged with SF to fleece public. more
