Is it REAL!!!

it can not just happen as I know the hospitals are stocked at least 45 days to 3 months of stents of various sizes and companies. This is just if it is happening because of greediness of hospitals and interventionists. As I know the high price of stents is due to various factors such as the interventionist cut in each stent, say about thousands, the chief technician who assist the physician during the procedure and the purchase department in the hospital and finally the payment accounts department who makes the payment. The physicians are so greedy that they want to make money as fast as possible because they have invested in time and above all paid huge capitation fee for DMs seat in a prestigious or a normal institution. So at the earliest they want to recover their money spent. Definitely there cannot be shortage because the companies go downs are heavily stocked and the dealers are flooded with stocks. Greediness is the mother of all artificial shortages more

It is the sad state of affairs in hospital Industry. In the Govt hospitals you will find only those patients who have hand to mouth existence and in their wildest dreams they cannot afford to send their relatives to these hospital for lack of money. There are no regulations, no system as to what should be reasonable charges for various services and procedures in the Private Hospital. The Drs and Hospital extract maximum from patient and his family. Atlaest I ahve come across many cases patient and family abusing the Hospital & Drs for overcharging them. more
Why only stents. Pharma Companies are overcharging many life saving medicines which are beyond the reach of majority of the population of the country. There is no political will to control these Companies for the reasons well known. more
GOVT. SHOULD ASK THE HOSPITALS TO REFUND THE EXTRA AMOUNT CHARGED DURING LAST THREE YRS TO THE PATIENT AND IF PATIENT CAN NOT BE TRACED OUT THEN TO THE ARMY WELFARE ACCOUNT OF THE GOVT. OF INDIA. more
Our government should not bow down to these greedy hospitals, the surgeons as well as their agents/middle men under any circumstances. On the contrary, the government should set some examples by suspending the licences of some hospitals found guilty of engaging in malpractices, taking back the degrees of the physicians found engaged in unethical practices and putting the agents/middle men behind the bars for siphoning money from innocent patients in distress. Our morale has gone down to such an extent that it does not understand any language other than the language of 'tit for tat'. more
