Is it so difficult to make Noida pedestrian-friendly?
I have been living in Noida for the past 18 years and usually commute by car most of the time even for the smaller distances. Reason we all know - Noida authority and traffic police seem to think that only car owners deserve to live in Noida. They always make and repair roads first and almost never pedestrian walks. After long wait they make some foot over bridges with the sole purpose of displaying ads. If you look any of the FOB, at least one side will be in the opposite direction of pedestrian movement e.g botanical garden and sector 28 FOBs. None of the traffic lights have time reserved for pedestrians and so people cross roads all the time in any direction like an animal. Is there no one in the whole of Noida administration who can get up from the comfortable chair and work closely with the traffic police and other relevant departments? Guess Noida will have to wait for its hero. more

Looks like we don't know how to make and maintain roads. Cars are parked where you are supposed to walk. You walk wherever there is space, like water. Cyclists have now red painted tracks which can't be used due to encroachments. And of course, the auto rikshas are above all rules. Traffic and parking are in a serious crisis. more

Apart from the above see the speed breakers put up on the roads near schools/some residential areas are not made as per the specifications and a scooter driver can have an accident and the suspension of four wheelers can be damaged. more

Repairing of roads with kuchcha bricks is another example that how fools authority have. They should repair a road keeping in mind that a newly learned lady will drive a scooty in a dark with a 2year kid seating behind her gripping loosely. more

Even motorists aren't treated very well - just look at the pot holes. The roads are bad enough through the year, but during and just after the rains, they are totally nightmarish! Governments and administrations change, traffic conditions, sanitation and roads remain bad, tending towards worse and worse ! more
