IS TAMIL NADU C M’S DECISION TO REIMPOSE LOCKDOWN RIGHT ?

Imposing lockdown in spite of the harm that it would do to the economy and the problems it would create for poor people and daily wage earners, is essentially a cost benefit decision.

Tamil Nadu C M has repeatedly said that people are not cooperating in observing government guidelines to prevent spread of Carona. Though most people obey, some do not.
It is shocking that even ministers, leaders of various political parties and their party men disobey the government guidelines with impunity. They are setting bad example for the people.

While Chief Minister is blaming people for not obeying the guidelines, he is silent about his own ministers violating the guidelines. Why is this ?

In the last few months , when full lockdown was in force ,still the police and the government could not entirely prevent the people from violating the guidelines in full measure. Now, will it be different when lockdown is imposed once again?

We would be paying too big a price by once again imposing lockdown affecting poor people and daily wage earners .
The strong and sustained campaign by government, media and concerned citizens asking people to observe the guidelines and painting the violators , even if they are ministers or political leaders ,as anti socials will provide better results than a forced lockdown, of which people have become tired.

Observation is absolutely correct. Not only during this carona virus spread period, all past practical happenings reveal that it is politician (ministers including) who set bad precedence thro violation of all normally observed public laws and behaviour. To cite a few 1. a union territory Chief Minister squating and lying down on the road to protest against Lt. Governor of the state 2. MPs of parliament from state opposition parties barging into the cabin of Chief Secretary of the State. 3. For every "Yes" in parliament house, opposition members immediately walks out and squat out side the parliament and degrade its stature., etc. Ultimately it is a general popular error to suppose the loudest complainers for the public to be the most anxious for its welfare. Our politicians are of this order. V A Sankaran. more

You are absolutely right. The political leaders should first set an axample but here it is otherwise. And people of tamilnadu also ( a section) do not at all observe the rules. more
