Is there no person to challenge Rahul in Congress
It is a tragedy that Congress party has declined to such a level that no one in the congress party has the courage or wisdom to demand that the leadership of the party should not be the claim of any single family.
There are number of regional parties whose leadership is essentially vested with the family such as DMK in Tamil Nadu, Samajwadi party in UP and others . In such parties, no one can claim to become the top leader unless he would belong to the particular family. The case study of Lalu Prasad and his family controlling the party is one of the worst examples of family ownership of political party.
But, one would think that Congress party which is supposed to be a national party will have different yardsticks to elect the leader, instead of wife succeeding the husband and later on her son succeeding her.
More than blaming the family, one should blame the so called leaders in the congress party who accept dynastic leadership with least sense of self respect.
Dr. Manmohan Singh , former Prime Minister for two terms bending low before Rahul claiming his dynastic succession as legitimate conclusively proves that members of the congress party are spineless and are only capable of bending low to a family.
One would recall Morarji Desai contesting against Indira Gandhi for the Prime Minister’s position. He lost the contest as even then many congress men were blind worshippers of the family. At that time, Rajaji hailed Morarji Desai for attempting to stop dictatorship in the party.
Is there not one known face left in the congress party who thinks that he could be better than Rahul to function as President of the party?
The developing contempt for the family controlled congress party amongst the people now is becoming evident.

"Rajaji hailed Morarji Desai for attempting to stop dictatorship in the party." Rajaji was the 1st and Kala Venkat Rao was last Leader that spoken in the Congress Party . Sri Gyani Jjail Singh had to be contended with Rajiv and Sri Manmohan had to follow Soniaji while Sri Pranab [ as he said in his Book ] adjusted with . Since after Sri Lal Bahadur Sastry, the situation of Congress Party was also so only and they had even cornered Sri P. V. Narasimha Rao after finding the path for magic Economic with Global Coordination opening out-gates for Indians to serve away from India to life and lead . This miserable situation has been managed with the Caste and Community preferences and religious campaign issues and thereafter switchedover to Gender discriminative technology to get on with the power and the Family of Nehru-Gandhians is only source of keeping power with Congress. This is true if we think of Congress {O}, {I}, {J}, {S}, {Urs}, of 70-80s ; {tmc}, {ncp}, {ysrcp} etc., etc., and, their very allies Regionally Set . Congress Party has no real nationalistic motto like any other National Political party in the Country and will be off when the Caste and Community System is removed from various laws and governing operations under the Constitution . In fact, no political party shall opt or prefer any Caste, Community and or Religion AND IS WHY DR. B.R. Ambedkar has rightly confined that " Castes are anti-national since they create jealousy and antipathy " AND, in the other way, " Castes are anti-national since they create rivalry between Castes and Communities " . Sri Nani Palkhiwala Senior Counsel also furiously commented that Castes shall be nothing but shall be the Dust in the Cup-boards . Our National Law Commission also redressed certain Sections of laws replacing with Safe and Secured status of Family and Couple in the Country . more
