Is this the Beginning of Modi’s End?
Recently held by-elections to India’s national parliament and several state assemblies may be pointers to the decline and final fall of India’s charismatic and pugnacious Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The erosion of Modi’s popularity has many reasons. First, what was earlier considered his charisma is now seen as arrogance and bravado. His “bring them on” style that had made him popular when he was in opposition now appears to demean the office of the Prime Minister in the eyes of substantial portions of the electorate.
Second, Modi's promises regarding the economic betterment of the average Indian does not cut it anymore. The imposition of the Goods and Services Tax @ 18% on Cooperative Housing Societies and Residential Complexes and reducing the rate of interest to 8.3% from 9.3% on a welfare scheme meant for Retirees from private sector i.e. Senior Citizens Savings Scheme 2004 have alienated significant elements of the population. The bureaucrats who do not like PM's style of functioning have managed to fool the Finance Minister in implementing ill conceived and anti people steps of 18% GST on Member's contribution in housing societies from their income tax paid income and making life hell for retirees by reducing rate of interest on SCSS 2004 which is supposed to provide a regular income stream to retirees.
This is a request to Local Circles to bring this to the notice of PM so that anti people policies are reversed before it is too late. All the good work done by PM will go down the drain if he is not allowed to continue it for the next term of 5 years by losing in the elections. more

Even if new government comes i am sure they will not be able to create job easily...to create a job government including state must identify all the existing industry which are on the verge of dying in order to support them financially and with other sources which will stop people of that particular locality to relocate to some other places in search of job. Of course there are failures and success in every government. What I heard in various grps is very serious matter. people marked a root cause, 'Hindu ppl thinks for their own not for a country'. Person gave a example of previous kings in Mogul time. Kings were looking for their own happiness, selfishness. Person gave a example of Ayodhya Temple case. There were 57 High Paying lawyers from Muslim side & ONLY 1 Mr. Swamy from Hindu side. If Modi goes down, Congress will take over the country, 2 Italians, mom & son will take over the country, they will make sure; 2nd Modi NEVER comes in power. Indian Hindus will become same as Kashmir Pundits in Kashmir. I have heard from few intellectual ppl that only self interest by few rich will bring down the country. Besides the points raised above, corruption in Governance from village to Metros is un abetted. This is the issue which concern all from the poorest to the richest. PM's call against the corrution was well received and had raised high hopes but its impact on the ground is hardly felt. more
