If I am depositing cash into the account belonging to distant branch, many banks do not charge anything but couple of banks( such as JKBANK) charge 57 rupees for a transaction.
Some banks charge for the cheque Books and some charge per leaf.
Department of Consumer Affairs in conjunction with RBI must come up with a uniform charge list displayed conspiquously in every bank branch.
There was a court ruling that " it's the seller who has to provide the consumer free the bag or container to carry the goods".
Banks need to provide the cheque Books, withdrawal slips etc free of charge to the bank customers. Again some banks are giving it free and others are charging. There should be no charges in savings accounts.
All super markets sell bags to carry goods. Instead of 1 to 2 rupee coins, they give candies(of their choice). What's this? Where is the expiry date, composition, MRP and GST for these candies?
The sweet makers in Delhi do not weight the packet along with the sweets but in all other cities the packet is weighed and charged the price of sweets. Not only that, the packets are intentionsly made heavier. more
